We woke up around 7am to prepare for our Disneyland tour. At 8am, we were on our way to find somewhere new to eat breakfast. This time around, we walked northward going to Yau Ma Tei MTR. Having noticed that most food shops were still closed that time, we opted to eat at Yoshinoya. Though Yoshinoya is quite common, we kinda liked their breakfast menu because they were serving rice! So both of us ordered their rice meals, mine was the teriyaki chicken while my wife had their signature beef. That was the perfect meal to have us ready for the long day ahead.
While looking for a place to have our breakfast, we took our pictures in front of Tin Hua temple at Yau Ma Tei.
Our chicken and beef were included two slices of luncheon meat and scrambled egg.
To go to Disneyland, we boarded the train at Yau Ma Tei and alighted at Lai King. From there, we changed to Tung Chung Line and alighted at Sunny Bay Station where the special MTR going to Disneyland is located. Inside the Disneyland train, you'll find Disney characters' statues and the train windows are
shaped like Mickey Mouse's head. Almost all the people inside the train weren't sitting. Instead they were walking inside the train and taking pictures.
Selfie of the day! Boom!lol
The Mickey Mouse shaped windows are sure hit for children and children at heart.
There were lots of people already when we reached the entrance of Disneyland. Everybody was busy taking their own pictures. Since we needed to have ours taken in front of the Disneyland arc, we tried asking another couple. Luckily, that couple was very kind and accommodating and we took their pictures as well. We were starting to feel the magic from where we are and the music adds to our excitement. As early as 10am, there was already a queue at the ticket booths. Good thing, we both our tickets yesterday so we didn't need
to queue at all.
We were really excited! Can't wait 'til we get inside.
Since it's weekend, we tried planning and managing our time so that we'll avoid crowded attractions. We took a map of the theme park and immediately checked all
the shows timings. After checking the shows timings we queued to have our pictures taken with Donald and Daisy Duck.
The queue for Mickey and Minnie was really long. But here it wasn't that bad.
There were three shows to watch in different time slots and different areas of the park. The first show, Lion King, starts at 11am and we went to see it first.
On our way to the Lion King show, I tried playing this guys drums!
A snapshot of the Lion King show from my video. Hakuna Matata!
We were supposed to see Golden Mickey show next but we were running late for the 2:30 show. So we went first to Grizzly Gulch, rode the roller coaster there and watched a western-like street show.
The western entertainment show @Grizzly Gulch.
I just noticed after looking at this picture that I was wearing Stitch's colors. lol!
After this we were readying for the 3:30pm parade. We were very near the starting point of the parade and people were starting to crowd the area. The parade was just ok. Maybe it's just me but I find the parade quite short. I still find the Everland parade in Seoul better.
Toy Story characters during the parade!
After the parade, we went to see the Golden Mickey show. We felt that it was the most popular, if not, one of the most popular entertainment shows in Disneyland. It was a series of scenes from different Disney movies. Overall, it was ok. After watching this show, we tried the Space station roller coaster ride. This is similar to The Mummy ride in USS Singapore.
The time was already 5:30pm when we went back to Fantasy land to see the Donald Duck musical show. On the way to the theater, we saw an area where people can take their pictures with almost all the Disney characters. It wasn't that crowded that time so we were lucky enough to have our pictures taken with almost all of the characters.
Finally, a photo with Mickey Mouse.
I got a hug from Winnie The Pooh!
After seeing the Donald Duck musical which was in 3D, we bought our Disneyland couple shirts and decided to have our dinner. Our dinner's theme that day was noodles! I order pork chop then my wife had beef brisket.
Her beef brisket noodles looks so delicious. It was perfect to counter the cold weather in Disneyland.
It was already around 7:30pm and we didn't plan to watch the
fireworks. But we had second thoughts and stayed to see the just the first few minutes of it. At the same time, we positioned ourselves near the exit so we can easily rush back to the MTR. The fireworks display started and after a while, people had started heading towards the exit. Well, that's our go signal to run as well. Hahaha!
We managed to get in first at the MTR with
few people in and it was a breeze going back to Jordan Station. It's just around 9pm
so we decided to walk around Temple Street Market to buy some stuff. I liked the cold wear that I bought yesterday so I bought another one but
different color. We also shed out a few bucks to buy key chains, ref magnets and other pasalubong.
